If you are brand new to Internet marketing, you might be thinking, "There has to be an easier way to do all this." Even if you are "over the hump" and have a few things going, that question might still be part of your thoughts once in a while.

There are many offers out there which can't wait to sell you something which appears to answer that question! I am here to tell you, there are no shortcuts to Internet marketing; finding success the old fashioned way (working very hard), is the only method that works!

Check back to the free Crash Course periodically - we update it regularly... with the intent to make it the best resource around for beginners to learn the basics as well as specific steps to get started building your site.

A reminder of a few typical ways people wasting time and money:

1. Canned Websites: Can't make a site? No problem! Just buy one already done! Uhh...can you spell "duplicate content". If you didn't know, that term means your site will be on page zillion 50 of the Google search results!

2. AdSense (or affiliate) Sites Generator: Don't have time to create a lot of sites? No problem! Just buy a product, fill in a few blanks, and push a button and WALLA - Instant sites! For this one, can you spell SPAM and DUPLICATE CONTENT! By the way, my AdSense Connection details for you the steps required to build an AdSense business. I must warn you though; there is nothing quick or easy about the initial process. You will have to supply some of that "old fashioned work" we've been talking about! http://www.WeberInternetMarketing.com/Tools/AdsenseConnection

3. Article Generator: No time for writing all that super important content? Just buy a product that does it itself! Yeah, right. More duplicate content plus the content reads like a Martian wrote it!

4. Free Sites: This is a REAL pet peeve of mine! Please don't be one of those people who won't even commit ten bucks a year for a domain and a few dollars a month for real hosting! Putting time and effort into a free site which is usually not even your own domain is a HUGE waste of time! Buy your own hosting and your own domain!! Same goes for free blog sites. If you want a blog, have your own host! Every large host now makes it very easy to set up your own blog.

5. The following are a complete waste of money too. I won't go into all the details on each, but trust me, they are all worthless to you.

- Buying a huge "email blast" to ten zillion email addresses

- Paying to be included in 1000's of search engines - Paying $49.99 (or something like that) for "SEO" services to rank on the first page of Google.

- Paying to have "a thousand" incoming links by tomorrow (whether one-way or exchanges)

- Buying a link or a banner which is guaranteed to have "10,000 hits a month" I hope you haven't wasted any money or time on these five areas. If you have (or are), cut your losses and get back to the basics.

I am living proof that a person can be very successful in Internet marketing with just the basics:

- A solid foundation of SEO (search engine optimization) and a few other marketing skills.

- Basic web design skills (NOTHING fancy is required)

- The means or ability to create plenty of original content. It won't come fast or easy. But I promise that the basic principles of Internet marketing applied with Relentless Focused Action will result in great success for you!
